… stāsts par šādu lēmumu pavisam vienkāršs – tēmas, ko aptver šīs grāmatas man riktīgi intresē, so far, esmu fragmentāli kaut ko grābstījis no interneta, mācījies no local case-studies, bet beidzot ir iespēja & vajadzība, kas mani intresi trīskāršo šajā virzienā … (paldies Efumo, īpaši Ansim un Igoram).
… Ruby on Rails mācīšanos laikam būs jāpabīda malā, ar Linux research ar nedaudz piebremzēšu.
Ir pamatota cerība pārliecība, ka savai praktiskajai izpratnei par dizainu un usability izdosies iegūt spēcīgu teorētisko (un netikai) bāzi … jeb šī ir mana atgriešānas pie tēmas, ko uzsāku mācīties augstskolā … bet, aplaužoties ar izglītības līmenī šajā jomā Latvijā, pārtraucu.

Neuzskatu, ka Linkedin kā uz profesionāliem kontaktiem orientēts sociālais portāls Latvija ir ieguvis popularitāti – to pārsvarā lieto cilvēki, kas strādā IT un ar to saistītās jomās, līdz ar to, manuprāt, uzskatāmas par nišas sociālo portālu.
Es pats vienmēr nedaduz paskatos vispirms no malas, kādā virzienā iet jauns sociālais portāls, bet dienā, kad piereģistrējos Linkedin, aizpildīju savu profilu kā nākas, principā maksimāli daduz norādot informāciju, kā arī ikdienā atjaunoju connections, paskatos vai nav kas jauns utt, dažreiz pat iesaistos grupu diskusijās – resumē – es portālu lietoju pietiekami aktīvi.
Principā, ik pa laikam atnāk kāds freelance piedāvājums, pa kādam lūgumam pakonsultēt, pa kādam darba piedāvājumam, bet nu pāris nedēļas atpakaļ, atnāca uzaicinājums uz darba pārrunām Skype. Visnotaļ patīkams pārsteigums, neliela sarakste pāris meilu izteiksmē, par tēmu, kas un kā, rezultātā iešedulējam darba interviju Skype, kas notika kā Skype video konferences zvans.
Principā, gudri par tēmu un ne par tēmu nepilnas divas stundas parunājamies Skype, pēc kā nākošajā dienā sekoja jau personalizēts darba piedāvājums (atalgojums, relocation, pienākumi utt), viss ko vajadzēja – tikai agreement no manas puses. Lai gan es jau pašā sākumā jutu, es pat teiktu – zināju – nekur es nedošos, jo:
nespēju/negribu iedomāties attiecības no attāluma;
common, es strādāju vietā, kur es daru to, kas man patīk un daru to labi* – un daru es to – šeit – Latvijā;
citi personīgi iemesli, padaudz;
esmu patriotisks;
Cits teiks (un tie ar kuriem aprunājos arī teica) – muļķis – bet es par savu izvēli esmu priecīgs un pārliecināts! Jā, vai tad nebūtu uuuber cool 22 gadu vecumā ierakstīties Skype rindās, saņemt ~3 reizes lielāku atalgojumu, nekā es saņemu Latvijā? Katram savas izvēles! Man patīk lēni un mērķtiecīgi bīdīties “uz priekšu” – šis būtu visai pārgalvīgs lēciens ar grūti prognozējamām sekām.
Anyway, tas, ko es gribēju ar šo pateikt – sekojiet līdzi savām sociālajām aktivitātēm – tieši ar tām Jūs parādāt IT sfērā “skatu no malas par sevi” – un caur to var panākt pirmo contact ar savu iespējamo nākamo darba devēju. Linkedin šim mērķim ir ļoti piemērots – un jaunie IT censoņi, un arī netik jaunie – tā ir reāli Jūsu iespēja. Esmu pārliecināts, ka ne visi IT speciālisti Latvijā dara to, kas viņiem patīk, vai apstākļos, kas patīk/apmierina – gribas ko labāku – ja man tā nebūtu, man būtu par vienu iemeslu mazāk noraidīt Skype piedāvājumu.
Pozitīvi, jeb pašapziņu un savu skillu approval rada tas, ka saruna ar Skype beidzās uz nots – ja es kādreiz pārdomāju – “You are more then welcome”.
Šodien secināju, ka mājā, kurā dzīvoju ir visai liela IT aktivitāte – trīs kāpņutelpas nelielai dzīvokļa mājai – katrā kāpņutelpā pa IT darbonim, es, Efumo rindās, kaimiņs no otrās kāpņutelpas strādā pie Veritweet projekta (eh, man pašam ar bija kādu laiku atpakaļ doma ko tādu uzmeikot), savukārt trešais kaimiņs – strādā Cube rindās.
Visai advancēti.

Apnika man self-hosted domēni/blogi, piemēram, vecais wieshka.lv, vai nedaudz jaunākais wieshka.com, pāris gadus, pat eksistēja abi divi paralēli.
Jebkurā gadījumā, esmu pārvācies uz šejieni un plānoju arī atsākt regulāri blogot, jo daudz sakāmā sakrājies, tik jāatrod laiks arī uzrakstīt. Ir gan visāds fun/interesanti stuffs galvā sakrājies, ir jauni case studies IT jomā, ir šis tas no mūzikas jauns, un visādi citādi, pats esmu vēlvienu visnotaļ pieredzes bagātu vasaru aizvadījis.
